Our Story
Môrester Academy was established in April 1995 on the farm Raskraal, 6 km outside Vanrhynsdorp. Ms J.C. Zandberg was the first principal.

In 2006, the new school building in Troe-Troestraat was occupied. Môrester Akademie is 31 years old this year.

Our Philosophy
The school is, first and foremost, founded on Christian values and principles, and secondly seeks to maintain Afrikaans as the language of instruction, as mother-tongue education is of cardinal importance to us. We strive to uphold a high standard of teaching by providing quality instruction in smaller classes. We believe that teaching is most effective when learners feel supported, understood, and motivated, and through smaller classes, we can build meaningful teacher-learner relationships and address each learner’s individual needs.

Our Finances
Like any school, we receive a subsidy from the government (WCED), but unfortunately it is not enough. We therefore rely on fundraisers and donations from the community for the growth and development of the school.
