CAPS curriculum

At Môrester Akademie, we follow the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS / KABV), which is the nationally approved curriculum of the Department of Basic Education in South Africa. It ensures structured, quality teaching that is age-appropriate and applied consistently across all schools.

Focus on reading, writing, numeracy, and life skills through language, mathematics, and life skills subjects.

Intermediate Phase (Grade 4 – 6 | approximately 10–12 years):
Learners take subjects such as Afrikaans Home Language, English First Additional Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences, and Life Skills.

Senior Phase (Grade 7 – 9 | approximately 13–15 years)
The curriculum expands to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through subjects such as languages, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, economic and management sciences, and technology.

Further Education and Training (Grade 10 – 12 | approximately 16–18 years)::
Learners take core subjects and elective subjects that prepare them for the DBE’s National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination and for further study or careers.

Individual Attention

Through smaller classes, our educators can closely monitor each learner’s progress, identify challenges early, and provide targeted academic support.

School Fees

Our school fees can be paid either for the full year in advance or monthly over 10 months. Discounts are offered for different payment plans, as well as when more than one learner from the same family attends the school.

Kinderwerf

We also offer the option of an on-site preschool for children aged 2–6 years. Any learner who understands Afrikaans, wishes to be taught in Afrikaans, and wants to learn about the Christian faith is welcome at Môrester Kinderwerf.

Databasis

As part of our policy to help our learners grow and develop, we also offer additional academic support through extra worksheets, practice tests, etc.
